Capital Allowance

Capital allowances refers to sums of money a UK business can deduct from the overall corporate or income tax on its profits. These sums drive from certain qualifying purchases or investments set out in the Capital Allowances Act 2001.

Capital allowances are available on plant and machinery, certain types of buildings - including converting space above commercial premises to flats for renting - and research and development facilities and equipment.
