Covent Garden to undergo £2billion redevelopment
Recent reports have indicated Wandsworth Council have granted planning permission to London's New £2billion redevelopment project of Covent Garden Market.
The project is a joint venture between VINCI and St Modwen who aim to consolidate the existing market at Nine Elms into a complex of three buildings creating 20 acres of prime land for residential and retail development.
The market will form the centrepiece at 500,000 sq ft and will be part of a wider regeneration project that also includes the redevelopment of the Iconic Battersea Power Station and the extension of the Northern Line tube.
Furthermore the project will also construct circa 3000 new homes plus 235,000 sq ft of commercial space including 100,000 sq ft of retail, leisure and new community facilities.
