Compulsory Purchase

Compulsory Purchase Orders (CPO) flow from legislation giving certain bodies that are needing to obtain land or property to do so without the consent of the owner. CPOs are issued if a proposed development is considered one of public betterment (for example, when building motorways where a land owner does not want to sell.) Similarly, if town councils wish to develop town centres, they may utilise compulsory purchase professionals to enable the development.
