Job Summary

A leading International School with multiple campuses in Hong Kong, is searching for a Project Manager to join their team and help with the completion of an iconic new build development at the heart of their campus.
 
This Project Manager would work directly with the Director of Project and have a significant impact in the success of this and future projects across the school’s campus.
 
The major responsibilities in this role will include but not be limited to:
  • Project Planning and Execution:Develop and implement project plans, including defining project scope, objectives, and deliverables. Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure project milestones are met and projects are executed efficiently.
  • Budget and Resource Management:Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost-effective utilization of resources. Collaborate with procurement teams to source materials and services required for construction projects.
  • Progress Control: Maintain strong communication and liaison with consultants and contractors to ensure progress is being properly documented and updated to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contract Management:Oversee the preparation and administration of contracts with contractors, suppliers, and consultants. Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and manage any changes or disputes that may arise.
  • Quality Control:Implement quality control measures to ensure that construction projects meet the highest standards. Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and address any issues or deficiencies.
  • Risk Management:Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize their impact on project timelines and outcomes. Proactively address any safety concerns and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Stakeholder Communication:Maintain effective communication with internal stakeholders, including school administrators, faculty, and staff, to keep them informed about project progress and address any concerns or questions.
 
To be the right fit for this position, the successful candidate must possess experience managing a new-build development in a live working environment.
 
Other requirements include but are not limited to:
  • Bachelor's degree in Building Surveying, Construction Management, or other related field.
  • A minimum of 8-10 years of experience working in construction based full-time in Hong Kong
  • Strong knowledge of construction project management principles, practices, and methodologies.
  • Solid understanding of the local statutory requirements with previous experience liaising with government bodies being an advantage but not a must.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Fluency in English and Cantonese is required.
