Job Summary
Become part of a thriving Private fund!Our client is an eminent organisation within the property industry. Renowned for their property development, they acquire buildings as well. As student accommodation and middle-income residential specialists, their portfolio spans South Africa, and has recently grown in value via a R1 Billion acquisition. To ensure that their tenants remain satisfied and that returns are optimal, they have brought their property management function inhouse recently.
Through this process it has come to light that they need to make an addition to their dynamic team by appointing a Revenue Financial Manager – the core function of which will be to conduct financial analysis across utilities, collections, reclamations, arrears and billings to provide revenue enhancing recommendations. This will require you to identify practical solutions which can be implemented at a systems, operational and financial level. This role will have you interacting with individuals at all levels in the organisation in order to gather the data and insights needed, whilst reporting to the Head of Operations & CEO and finding ways to implement change at a property management level.
Overseeing a portfolio consisting of 7,000 tenants (and growing!), tasks such as preparing cashflow forecasts, property and project budget preparation, developing revenue enhancing strategies as well as developing and implementing policies and procedures will also fall to you.
A role of this level requires someone with emotional maturity and the ability to influence decision makers, external parties and internal teams members who may be resistant to change. It would suit a highly analytical person with exceptional MS Excel skills who has a minimum of a BCom in Finance, preferably on the CFA route. Two years of experience in the property environment combined with 3 years’ of articles experience will help you secure this position. Experience using Sage or WeConnectU will be highly advantageous, but the role is otherwise open to all nationalities and individuals currently living and working in Johannesburg.
