Responsibilities will include:

  • Using network to search target markets for development opportunities
  • Assisting in land searches, developing the Group's land bank across Europe and matching with occupier requirements
  • Analysing development opportunities using DCF/IRR based approaches - sensitivities based on changes in spec, land-option pricing etc.
  • (In time) analysing/underwriting/due diligence of deals on behalf of a large pan-European client
  • Assisting in the sale of completed projects; engaging sales agents, developing marketing strategy, co-negotiating sale
  • Reporting to the principal backer and the other sources of equity with modelling/qualitative reporting to secure investment/development approval
  • Analysing and assisting in new land options/acquisitions
  • Researching data to establish current land prices, rental values, construction costs, investment yields etc.
  • Working with architects/master-planners to optimise identified sites
  • Assisting with bids for tenders offered by end occupiers (Amazon, Fedex, XPO, Primark etc.)
  • Attending and conducting meetings (independently in due course)
  • Building a network among investors, developers and occupiers - to source new opportunities for the Group
  • Modelling development appraisals and, in time modelling cashflows for acquisitions of assets on behalf of a large pan-European client with a current AUM of c. €650m.

Experience/Qualities Required

  • Degree educated (2:1 minimum) in a relevant subject
  • Entitled to live and work in the UK without a visa
  • Pan-European experience (ideally)
  • 3-5 years' experience in real estate development or investment
  • Property savvy with some logistics experience (ideally)
  • Highly numerate, strong technical skills and ability to build complex models from scratch (will be tested)
  • Demonstrable interest in logistics and development
  • Keen on a broad role, not a deal junkie
  • Highly motivated & entrepreneurial
  • Excellent written and spoken English as a minimum
  • Good problem-solving skills and communication ability (written & verbal)
  • Team player, able to work with the Group's other European teams within a flat structure
  • Able to understand the group's operating model and how this adapts to opportunities across Europe
  • Intelligent with a positive can-do attitude and a desire to learn/specialise in an exciting sector.
