Asset Manager - Director / VP - German Portfolio, London

Key responsibilities

  • The successful candidate will be given an opportunity to review existing business and strategic operating plans for each asset, and for the portfolio as a whole and reset detailed business plans.
  • Assume responsibility for business plan execution, reporting weekly on activity and issues arising.
  • Establish strong relationships with advisors, stakeholders and lenders.
  • Oversee asset managers, property managers, leasing agents, lawyers and other professionals in the performance of their duties.
  • Liaise with joint venture and operating partners.
  • Liaise with corporate administrative functions on income and expenditure, fulfilling bank obligations, fulfilling corporate obligations and delivering investor distributions.
  • Maintain property and financial models for each asset and portfolio so as to be able to report achieved performance and forecast future performance.
  • Establish and develop high-quality commercial relationships with all direct tenants so that opportunities to create value can be seized
  • Either direct advisors on all tenant lease negotiations or undertake those negotiations directly with tenants
  • Take ownership of asset management reporting both internally and to external investors.
  • Assist with the execution and origination of new transactions in Germany.

Backgrond & Experience

  • Fluent in German and English
  • Strong academic background; University degree in real estate, engineering, finance, business, economics or similar subject.
  • At least 8 - 15+ years of relevent real estate experience.
  • Proven hands-on commercial asset management in Germany within a real estate private equity fund, real estate investment manager, real estate asset manager or real estate advisor.
  • Track record of executing asset management business plans including capital expenditure and leasing programmes.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced and collaborative team environment.
  • Strong communication skills and articulate verbal skills in both English and German.
  • Ambitious, energetic, team player, well-organized, with strong inter-personal skills.
  • Effective presentation skills, both written and oral.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
