Our client is a fast-growing international company focused on real estate development and asset management of industrial/logistics assets across the APAC region. Thay have attracted investment from several institutional capital partners. This means they have grown quickly. are set up for long-term growth and have a current need to further bolster their senior SEA management team. This includes a need to secure an experienced Head of Development to drive integrated Business Development and Project delivery.
Reporting to the Regional MD, the appointed individual will enjoy an end-to-end portfolio that includes both business development (origination) and development management (project execution) across its SE Asia markets whilst leveraging the support of in-country BD and development/project management personnel. As such, the Head of Development will enjoy a front-office, deal origination and client relationship management role (land acquisitions, corporate partner development and careful consideration of commercial viability) whilst closely collaborating with the fund/investment team to manage proposed projects from initial feasibility studies and land acquisition through product development. There will be a need to customise to meet Client needs for Build-to-Suit warehouse and distribution centre assets whilst steering the subsequent project delivery processes. The Head of Development will oversee the project execution of approved deals with personal engagement for more complex, high-value flagship projects whilst concurrent projects will be managed by in-country teams.
This will necessitate full control of project and budget planning and the management of outsourced Consultants, Architects and building Contractors until each asset is completed. A critical aspect of the position will be to drive profitability and deliver investment returns to investment partners whilst ensuring value-added opportunities (asset enhancement, value engineering, floorplate optimisation) are well-conceived.
Interested candidates will possess a relevant degree, ideally, supported by an MBA/Masters. Solid experience (15+ years) gained in Development/Project Management AND Business Development whilst also offering a minimum of 5 years senior team leadership experience within a multi-cultural environment. Prior exposure to the Industrial and Logistics assets is preferred whilst exposure to multiple SE Asia markets will be advantageous. You must have a knowledge and track-record of deals in the Singapore market first and foremost. Aside from demonstrable success in originating and closing land deals, building strong client networks (corporate clients) and the successful on-time within budget delivery of Greenfield projects, the successful individual is expected to possess drive, passion and initiative to work autonomously as a senior member of the management team whilst upholding the firms strong collaborative and teamwork ethos. Prior experience gained within both Developer and Fund/REIT environments may be preferred.
