Since this well established company does their own developments, buys buildings/portfolios, and manages all their assets, their Legal Manager needs to be a 'jack of all trades'. More than 50% of your time will see you working with transfers and town planning issues related to buying properties and rezoning for use, bond registrations and transfers. But your duties will also include the vetting of non-standard lease terms, company secretarial duties, drafting of a large variety of agreements, dispute and litigation matters as well as complex insurance contracts and claims. Some matters - particularly in litigation - will see you directing and working with external legal council on specialist matters. The leasing, development and asset management functions in this busy environment will all expect your guidance and advisory service to ensure that their risk is identified and mitigated contractually at all times.
Apply to this role if you have a minimum of 3 years post admission experience and a stable track record within real estate law in South Africa.
