They are constantly striving to add value through redevelopment, acquisition, disposal, and bespoke leasing.
Whilst all assets are being managed day-to-day by an external service provider, they are looking to appoint an entrepreneurial and out-of-the-box thinker to oversee this relationship on a portion of their portfolio, whilst also reporting on asset performance at the highest level. An Asset Manager in this environment is responsible for assisting in all acquisitions & disposals within their portfolio, providing up to date information regularly and taking full charge of upgrades & refurbishments. Whilst they could consider someone with a strong financial and property management background - what they really want is a DISRUPTOR. By hiring a QS / PR / DM into this role, or even someone who has worked for a retail tenant, they seek to bring fresh ideas into a well established team. As such, they are happy to consider someone who has taken full charge of a retail development from either a developers, costing or project management view point. You will be a senior individual within your current organisation who is able to influence your own team as well as retain and understand local and National tenants; this you will do by displaying a real understanding of the operational risks and opportunities of retail in a changing landscape.
Expect some travel in this role, as the portfolio can only be successfully managed with ongoing visits to some far-flung sites.
To be a suitable candidate you will need:
- A Bcom in Finance QS or Bsc in Property studies/ Construction.
- At least 10 years’ working experience
- An entrepreneurial thinker, with a proven ability in working on retail assets/ projects
- Analytical and solutions-driven individual with high emotional intelligence
