Job Title: Vice President/Director, Investments
Location: Seoul, Korea

A leading Asian investment firm with a strong track record of investing in high-growth companies in the healthcare and bio-tech sectors is looking to expand their Korea investment team and they are seeking a highly motivated and experienced VP/Director to join the investment team based in Seoul. The successful candidate will play a critical role in identifying, originating, evaluating and executing buyout investment opportunities in South Korea, as well as managing and driving value creation in portfolio companies. This role offers significant exposure to high-profile transactions and the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership. The ideal candidate should have a strong network of contacts in the healthcare space and good understanding of the healthcare landscape in Korea. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deal Sourcing and Evaluation:
    • Identify and evaluate potential buyout investment opportunities in South Korea.
    • Conduct detailed industry, market, and company research to support investment theses.
    • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including investment banks, advisors, and industry experts.
  • Due Diligence:
    • Lead and manage comprehensive due diligence processes, including financial modelling, valuation analysis, and risk assessment.
    • Coordinate with external advisors and internal teams to ensure thorough evaluation of investment opportunities.
  • Transaction Execution:
    • Develop and present investment proposals and recommendations to the Investment Committee.
    • Negotiate transaction terms and structures in collaboration with legal, financial, and operational advisors.
    • Manage transaction processes, including documentation, regulatory approvals, and closing procedures.
  • Portfolio Management:
    • Oversee and support the management of portfolio companies, driving strategic initiatives and value creation.
    • Monitor financial and operational performance of portfolio companies, identifying opportunities for improvement.
    • Assist in the development and execution of exit strategies.
  • Team Collaboration and Leadership:
    • Work closely with senior team members and contribute to the overall strategy and success of the investment team.
    • Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CFA preferred.
  • More than 5 years of experience in private equity, investment banking, management consulting, or a related field, with a strong focus on buyouts.
  • Proven track record of successfully executing buyout transactions in South Korea.
  • Strong financial modelling, analytical, and valuation skills.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation abilities.
  • Deep understanding of the Korean market and regulatory environment.
  • Fluency in Korean and English is required.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a high degree of autonomy.
