Job Summary
A leading data centre developer is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Engineer to lead the technical operations of their state-of-the-art data center in Manila.As the Chief Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, maintenance, and efficient operation of the data center's infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security.
Other responsibilities will include and not be limited to:
Technical Leadership - Lead a team of engineers and technicians, providing guidance, training, and support in all technical aspects of data center operations.
Infrastructure Management - Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of all critical data center systems and equipment, including servers, storage devices, network switches, and firewalls.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting - Lead troubleshooting efforts during equipment failures or system outages, implementing effective resolutions in a timely manner.
Capacity Planning and Optimisation - Implement and maintain effective monitoring tools and processes to ensure timely identification and resolution of performance issues.
Documentation and Reporting - Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of data center infrastructure.
To be a suitable fit for this role, the successful candidate must possess proven experience as a Chief Engineer or in a similar leadership role within a data center environment.
Other requirements include but are not limited to:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Strong knowledge of data center infrastructure, including power systems, cooling systems, networking, and security.
- Familiarity with industry standards and best practices, such as ANSI/TIA-942 and Uptime Institute's Tier Standards.
- Proficiency in data center management tools and software.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to handle complex technical challenges.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
