The CompanyMacdonald & Company is partnered with a privately held multifamily owner and operator based in Denver to appoint a Chief Financial Officer.
The firm is an established real estate platform with a long track record of acquiring, developing, and operating multifamily communities across the Western United States. Backed by institutional capital partners and an experienced leadership team, the company continues to grow its portfolio through both acquisitions and development while maintaining a disciplined, long-term investment approach.
With an active pipeline of new investments and capital raising initiatives, the company is seeking a CFO who will serve as a strategic partner to the executive team while building and leading a best-in-class finance and accounting platform to support continued growth.
The Position
The Chief Financial Officer will oversee all financial functions of the organization, including accounting, financial reporting, capital markets support, treasury management, and investor reporting.
Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with senior leadership across investments, development, and asset management, the CFO will play a key role in shaping financial strategy, strengthening operational infrastructure, and supporting the firm’s continued expansion.
This role will lead and mentor the accounting and finance team while ensuring the company maintains strong financial controls, reporting standards, and capital management processes.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead all financial operations of the firm, including accounting, financial reporting, treasury management, and tax oversight.
- Oversee preparation of corporate and fund-level financial statements and ensure accurate, timely reporting to investors and stakeholders.
- Partner with the executive team to support strategic planning, capital allocation decisions, and long-term growth initiatives.
- Support capital raising efforts by coordinating financial materials, investor reporting, and lender/investor communications.
- Establish and maintain robust financial controls, reporting processes, and operational systems to support portfolio growth.
- Manage lender relationships and oversee debt compliance, covenant reporting, and financing activities.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis across the company’s investment and operating platform.
- Build and develop the finance and accounting team while fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture.
