Job Summary
High calibre CFO required to help run successful PPP Concession.Our client has been instrumental in the design, construction, and successful operation of a large infrastructure project on behalf of the Gauteng Provincial Government for many years. They ensure that the various external contractors and service providers they have partnered with provide a world class service, whilst maintaining returns to investors. They require thought leaders who can engage in wide-spread collaboration and transactional management. After more than a decade at the helm, the current CFO is looking to broaden their horizons and as a result the company is looking to appoint a new CFO to partner with the CEO to ensure, amongst others, compliance with Board and statutory requirements, good corporate governance, and innovative financial and risk management to help achieve sustainable earnings growth.
Whilst the normal compliance, governance and financial management of the company will be the CFO’s responsibility, helped by a small but experienced accounting team, there is so much more to this leadership role. Some of these tasks will include investment management, forex hedging, reconciliation of complex mixed currency creditors accounts, CSI accountability, performance bond calculations, risk mitigation and significant external reporting. This role will expose you to key stakeholders and investor institutions, where you will be relied on to provide detailed submissions and present flawless audits.
Since the company is essentially running very high value contracts, we are looking for your skills in a contracts-based environment such as construction, infrastructure development, transport or engineering. With their eye firmly on transformation, preference will be given to African candidates who are Chartered Accountants and have a minimum of 5 years’ experience at a Senior Financial Manager level or higher.
