Our client is a dynamic and entrepreneurial real estate development and management business who have been running a strong, up-market commercial portfolio for the last decade and a half. Despite having a lean team, they have achieved exceptional results in a short space of time developing and managing A-grade, environmentally responsible buildings in the heart of Sandton not afraid to compete against the large South African REITS.

Consisting of an external bookkeeper and Debtors Controller & Accountant only, their small finance team is responsible for all aspects of day to day and finance and billing management. They are seeking to appoint a experienced, self-disciplined Accountant who boasts exceptional work and professionalism. Sitting at their offices in the Northern Suburbs of Johannesburg you will report directly into the Chief Financial Officer. Taking full responsibility for the portfolio of 150,000 square meters you will do everything from loading of leases to utilities control and will be able – as an Excel and MDA super user - to integrate and streamline reports and systems. 

Your duties will include but are not limited to: 
•    COJ account issues. 
•    Credit Control.
•    Interest calculations.
•    VAT returns.
•    Recoveries of utilities rates & refuse.
•    Monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
•    Monthly VAT verification audits.
•    Tenant invoicing and recoveries.
•    Loading new leases/tenants onto MDA.
•    Lease straight-lining.
•    Monthly reporting vs prior periods and budget.
•    Monthly reporting to co-owners.
•    Preparation of audit files and responding to audit queries.
•    Assistance with preparation of AFS.
•    Assistance with preparation of budgets.
•    Assistance with tax queries/tasks.
•    Assistance with preparation of property valuations.
•    KPI reporting and analysis.
•    Monthly utilities variance analysis.
•    Assistance with automisation/modernisation of processes.
•    Adhoc reporting. 

The successful incumbent will boast 5 to 8 years' experience doing the full accounting function while holding a relevant tertiary qualification in Finance or Accounting. It is imperative that you have master's proficiency using MDA and Excel
