We are delighted to be supporting our long-term client with the hiring of a Construction/Project Director to deliver a large scale residential scheme in London.

Our client is a dynamic Developer who specialises in high quality residential new build projects in Central London. The schemes are modern in design and incorporate the latest technology and first class amenity spaces such as on-site gyms and spa areas, roof terrace gardens and relaxation spaces along with co-working areas for residents.

You will be the  most senior colleague in Construction and lead the day to day Construction Management of all construction activities on the current project. The project requires a seasoned Construction Director/Project Director to oversee the scheme through the entire construction phase to project completion, scheduled to be summer 2026. The scheme is a large residential tower involving many technical elements, including large structure, RC Frame and MEP.  The client will be acting as both developer and principle contractor on this scheme, therefore the Construction/Project Director will be required to oversee the development from ECI through to handover.

The role would suit an experienced candidate whose area of expertise is within the self-delivery model, and comes from a main contractor environment. The right candidate will understand the full construction process as well as the ability to build programmes and also be commercially astute. The role reports into the Managing Director (and will be the person) providing them with technical support across all construction related matters. 

  • You must have at least five years’ experience relevant to the role and a track record of demonstrable experience of delivering residential schemes to time, quality and budget.
  • Will hold a professional qualification such as RICS, CIOB, ICE, CIBSE.
  • Excellent understanding of construction processes and regulations.
  • Strong commercial focus and foresight with sound negation skills.
  • Exemplary evidence of team and executive leadership.
  • People and communication skills are key across a wide range of project stakeholders.
  • Leadership, risk management and negotiation experience throughout the design, procurement, and construction phases will be key to balance quality, cost, and time parameters of each development.
  • You must be capable of using your personality, in addition to your expertise, to influence situations.
  • Excellent ability to produce and manage programmes using Asta and / or MS Project.
  • Strong experience in navigating construction project management software (e.g. Aconex / Procore / Asite or similar).
  • Exemplary evidence of being current with statutory, legal and compliance requirements.
  • You must possess the ability to work with confidence and self-discipline, taking ownership of tasks and being able to demonstrate sound judgement and decision-making skills.
