Reporting to the Director of Design, the Design Manager will play a key role in the comprehensive project management process, with a primary focus on overseeing design aspects for new build projects managed by a multi-disciplinary consultant team. 


  • Develop, refine, and manage bid/tender packages in collaboration with the consultant team, incorporating design enhancements following concept presentations and mock-up reviews.
  • Review design packages and collaborate with the consultant team to ensure design alignment with all regulatory and statutory mandates.
  • Supervise project delivery to ensure timely and budget-compliant completion, maintaining adherence to design intent.
  • Ensure quality control of design/engineering aspects, encompassing life safety, waterproofing, accessibility, and maintenance considerations.
  • Achieve cost-effective fit-out projects by identifying Value Engineering proposals and suggesting alternative design or materials specifications when necessary.
  • Evaluate technical submissions and method statements from General Contractors and Subcontractors.
  • Coordinate with the Development team, operator, fit-out contractors, and FF&E suppliers to review and approve shop drawing submissions, material samples, technical submissions, and prototypes promptly, while upholding design integrity.
  • Generate supplementary sketches as needed to address site conditions and maintain design intent during the construction phase.
  • Conduct inspections of construction progress and quality to verify compliance with specifications and design intent.
  • Perform inspections upon Substantial Completion and collaborate with the Architect and other consultants to compile a well-documented list of defects and recommend corrective actions.
  • Review all as-built drawings meticulously.
  • Oversee and uphold company workflow, goals, policies, and procedures.
  • Address conflicts and issues as they arise on a daily basis.
  • Conduct regular meetings with Project Managers to discuss project progress and team efficiency.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in interior fitting-out/building construction, preferably within the Hospitality sector.
  • Familiarity with the Florida Building codes.
  • Proficiency in AUTOCAD, Rhino, Revit, Photoshop, and InDesign.
  • Resourceful, dedicated to quality, and driven to achieve results.
  • A collaborative team player with a proven track record of managing large fit-out projects, capable of working effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • A problem solver and self-starter with the ability to work independently and proactively, possessing strong and effective communication skills.
  • Additional proficiency in spoken languages is a plus.
