Job Summary
Our client is a successful development and investment company based in London. Active directly as investor and developer across London and throughout the UK. Our client is a value add business with a particular focus on quality rather than quantity, which seeks to actively improve and enhance shareholders returns. Whilst working across a range of sectors our client is looking to hire a Development Manager that is more commercially led and therefore which will be a prerequisite for the vacancy in question.Due to the flat set up of the team this exciting role allows the candidate to work cradle to grave across their current and upcoming projects enabling some great experience within a very talented team, operating in a business that is currently active in this current market.
Key Responsibilities
Building Appraisals
- Conduct thorough due diligence on potential developments, including feasibility studies, and risk assessments.
- Stay conversant with market research, target market drivers, demographics, and competitor analysis.
- Identify and quantify all development risks during the site due diligence process.
Development Brief
- Create comprehensive development briefs that outline project objectives, scope, and key deliverables.
- Prepare detailed opportunity summaries to present to stakeholders, highlighting potential benefits and risks.
- Ensure all development briefs and opportunity summaries are aligned with strategic goals and market conditions.
Planning and Design
- Formulate effective pre-planning strategies and lead cross-functional teams through the planning process.
- Manage the delivery of planning consents and negotiate Rights of Light, Party Wall and neighbourly agreements.
Public and Community Engagement
- Develop and implement strategies for effective public and community engagement, fostering positive relationships with stakeholders.
- Promote the relationship between brand image and product design attributes.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to develop and execute branding and marketing strategies that effectively position and promote developments.
Qualifications and Skills
- Education: A good academic background, having been educated to degree level with an appropriate professional membership.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in real estate development.
- Strong commercial background and knowledge of local markets, regulations, and building codes.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Familiarity with sustainable development practices and initiatives.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams.
- Communication: Excellent communication and presentational skills, with the ability to convey information to a diverse audience.
