Position Overview:
As the Director of Mechanical, Electrical, & Plumbing (M.E.P.) at a leading multidisciplinary consultancy firm based in the Middle East, your role is pivotal in driving sustainable and profitable growth by delivering high-quality M.E.P. projects. You will collaborate closely with architecture, interior design, and project management experts, representing the firm as a key influencer and partner to major clients on large-scale projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy:
Support the CEO in strategic business planning by providing market intelligence, technical advice, counsel, and decision-making insights.
Partner with the Leadership Team to create and implement a flexible growth strategy, identifying areas for improvement and developing talent within the internal team.
Contribute to Pace's vision of becoming the client's first choice for design quality and innovative project delivery.
Financial Performance:
Ensure gross margin delivery aligns with the budget.
Prioritize client satisfaction by understanding owner/client requirements and attending meetings to gain clarifications.
Oversee financial aspects to optimize cash flow and P&L.
Communication & Working Relationships:
Interface directly with clients for presentations, dialogue, conflict resolution, and negotiation.
Collaborate closely with Directors, Business Development, Operations, and other stakeholders on estimations, forecasting, allocation, design, and project delivery considerations.
Manage the performance, development, and conduct of direct reports.
Represent in external forums, support business development, and optimize the firm's brand and corporate values.
Accountabilities:
Provide market intelligence and technical expertise to support strategic business planning.
Collaborate on a growth strategy with the Leadership Team.
Ensure the delivery of high-quality M.E.P. projects.
Optimize financial performance in line with budgeted margins.
Prioritize client satisfaction by understanding and meeting owner/client requirements.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
Skills & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical or Electrical).
Strong intercultural competence.
Proven leadership experience with large teams.
Client relationship management and presentation skills.
Hands-on design skills.
Extensive experience in the MENA region.
Change management expertise, both project and cultural.
Ability to select materials and equipment based on technical evaluations.
Experience in compliance with national/local ministerial regulations and international standards.
Knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM
15-20 years of experience in design and supervision in a relevant field.
