A leading independent consultancy firm is seeking a Director of Cost Consultancy to spearhead the growth of its cost consultancy service line. This position offers a unique opportunity to work with high-profile clients in sectors such as logistics, retail, industrial, office, residential, and more. The successful candidate will collaborate with a Senior Director to drive business growth and deliver exceptional consultancy services to institutional investors and other high-profile clients.Role Objectives: The Director of Cost Consultancy will:
- Lead the development and growth of the cost consultancy service line, forging relationships with both internal teams and external clients.
- Deliver high-quality consultancy advice to a diverse range of clients in sectors including industrial, office, residential, student accommodation, and build-to-rent.
- Work with major clients, managing high-profile projects and expanding the consultancy’s service offering.
- Support the Senior Director in business development, resourcing, and operational improvement initiatives.
- Ensure best practices and innovation are at the core of the service line’s offerings, while maintaining strong relationships with clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and drive the cost consultancy service line, bringing a strong technical and commercial profile to complement the existing team.
- Collaborate with the Senior Director to develop and execute a business plan for the service line.
- Oversee the management and development of the technical team, ensuring delivery of top-tier cost consultancy services.
- Liaise with service hub leaders across various divisions to align services with strategic goals.
- Maintain and build client relationships, contributing to business development efforts and ensuring the service line meets performance targets.
- Provide hands-on leadership in cost consultancy delivery, contributing to both technical expertise and commercial success.
- A relevant degree and MRICS qualification.
- Proven expertise in cost consultancy, with a strong commercial focus and existing industry contacts.
- Demonstrable ability to lead, inspire, and deliver high-quality technical services.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, mentor and develop team members, and foster a collaborative working environment.
- A track record of achieving financial targets and driving new business development.
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and coaching abilities, with a focus on team development.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with confidence in client-facing roles.
- Commercially astute with a focus on risk management and strategic alignment.
- Technology-oriented and capable of sharing knowledge and information effectively within the organisation.
