Job Summary
Due to in increase in workload, a talented Ecologist is required to join an established team and lead the expansion of their national ecology services. This role offers significant career advancement opportunities within their practice, which provides a full spectrum of landscape, planning, and design services.Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate biodiversity impact assessments, Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) assessments, and the development of Biodiversity Gain Plans for planning applications.
- Manage the purchase of biodiversity units and credits as part of offsetting schemes.
- Conduct ecological surveys including Phase 1 Habitat Surveys, Ecological Impact Assessments, Biodiversity Enhancement & Management Plans, and Natural England licence applications for species such as bats, great crested newts, and badgers.
- Plan and coordinate specialist ecological surveyors (independent contractors) across the UK.
- Prepare reports for planning submissions and manage the discharging of conditions attached to planning permissions.
- Collaborate closely with a team to meet client requirements and provide practical, high-quality ecological solutions.
- Proven experience in Biodiversity Net Gain and ecological assessments.
- Familiarity with biodiversity units and offsetting schemes.
- Strong background in ecological survey work and the management of specialist surveyors.
- Experience in report preparation for planning submissions.
- A team-oriented approach with a commitment to client service and practical problem-solving.
