Job Summary
Macdonald & Company are delighted to be working with a Care and Education Group who provide Children's Homes, specialist Educational Facilities and Support Accommodation across England. The business have a team of over 1,000 colleagues who's aim is to provide the best service and support for those children and young people within their care. The purpose of the Estates Management role is to carry out property condition and dilapidation surveys and you will be responsible for managing and supervising the maintenance and improvement team, as well as being involved with refurbishment and construction projects. Due to workload, the business are looking to onboard someone on a 3 month FTC and will also consider a day rate for the right individual. The role will be based on site/on the road 4 days per week and 1 day from home.Main Duties:
- Supervise the maintenance and multi-trade team
- Ensure properties are kept to a high standard and are compliant
- Manage property inspections
- Manage refurbishment projects
- Work closely with the Facilities Manager to ensure compliance across the portfolio is achieved
- Manage planned and reactive maintenance
- Advise on and manage planning applications with external partners, including listed buildings
About You:
- Strong H&S background
- Construction knowledge is essential
- Experience of managing and owning property maintenance and refurbishment projects
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to build relationships with stakeholders, Home Managers, Head Teachers and Ops Directors
- Clean driving licence and ability to use own car
