As Facilities Manager, you’ll be the person making sure the buildings under your care remain safe, compliant and operational. You’ll spend time on site inspecting properties, identifying issues and driving solutions, while coordinating the contractors and service providers needed to get the job done. Your remit will stretch across planned and reactive maintenance, building systems, soft services and Health & Safety, with responsibility for keeping maintenance schedules on track and ensuring contractors deliver against agreed standards. You’ll also scope works, source quotations and keep a close eye on recurring building issues and potential risks. This is a role for someone who takes initiative rather than waiting for a job card to tell them there’s a problem.
Our client is looking for an experienced, practical Facilities Manager with 5+ years’ experience across commercial property, ideally including retail, industrial or mixed-use environments. Strong contractor management experience is essential, and you should be comfortable managing SLAs, challenging poor performance and coordinating works across multiple sites. Exposure to HVAC and lift maintenance contracts/SLAs will be particularly advantageous, alongside a solid understanding of building systems, preventative maintenance and Health & Safety requirements. Most importantly, you’ll need to be proactive and willing to physically get out to the properties, assess problems for yourself and make sure they are resolved properly. A valid driver’s licence is essential.
