Job Summary

Our client is a Vietnamese Developer with a significant track record of delivering Residential, Commercial and Townships projects throughout their history. They have an excellent leadership team, but are building for the future and are looking to hire a Group CFO to help them realise that vision. This is a signficant leadership role for a large business and they are looking for an experienced leader from the region who has a strong track-record within a Listed Company

Candidate requirements:

  • At least 20 years in senior leadership/ management roles at comparable large or international corporations including at least 3 to 5 years’ experience in a CFO role for a Listed real estate developer or Listed company.
  • International background - working experience in other markets around Asia Pacific or globally, or educated and lived in another country for 3-5 years minimum. 
  • Strong understanding and experience in group financial and business planning and group management.
  • Experience of working in a listed company with multiple subsidiaries.
  • Candidates MUST have working experience of Vietnam. Either currently or previously. 

I. Job requirements     
1    Educational requirements
1.1    Bachelor’s Degree in finance / banking / economics. Master's degree in business or related field (preferred)
1.2    Certified financial management or accounting accreditation from an international body (i.e. ACCA / CPA / CFA) is a must
2    General experience requirements
2.1    At least 15 years in finance and accounting field, including 3 years in positions as Finance Director / Chief Accountant or Financial Controller, preferably with background in a broad, multi-disciplined real estate company.
2.2    At least 3-5 years of experience in a similar position in a company of the same size.
3    Experience aligned with responsibilities for the role's requirements over the next 3 years (Based on the job description)
3.1    Strong understanding and experience in group financial planning and the financial component of Annual Business Plan at the parent company / holding company.
3.2    Have knowledge and experience to construct and develop short, medium- and long-term financial strategies to ensure the effectiveness of capital for business and investment activities, profit maximization, preserving and growing capital from share issuance, bond issuances, and IPO/listing.
3.3    Have knowledge and experience in business planning and ownership structure models planning for member companies for the group.
3.4    Have knowledge and experience in financial budgeting, forecasting process, balance cash flow to ensure adequacy of fund for business activities and effectiveness of fund allocation for the Group.
3.5    Strong understanding of local regulations and international accounting standards and experience in financial planning, analyses, financial statement, financial compliance standards at a listed company.
3.6    High profile expertise in the specific industry with a proven track record in financial processes of best-in-class in financial and risk management. 
II. Main responsibility    
1    Drive financial and economic value creation
1.1    Set and achieve Group’s long-term financial goals
1.2    Define optimal capital structure and business portfolio 
1.3    Oversee, exercise authority, and approve decision on major investments, key capital allocation decisions, and corporate matters
1.4    Participate to evaluate the financial variability of business investment projects
1.5    Review financial efficiency of investments
1.6    Participate to raise capital from share issuance, bond issuances, and IPO/listing
1.7    Participate in business planning of the Group
1.8    Participate to plan ownership structure models for member companies
1.9    Recommend the appointment and dismissal of the Financial Director/Chief Accountant at member companies
2    Support Board of Directors, Group CEO and Management team on financial implications of strategic decisions
2.1    Provide effective and efficient fact-based financial information, evaluation, and overall enterprise risk assessment
2.2    Lead and manage fund raising, financial budgeting and forecasting process
2.3    Monitor, manage, analyze, forecast, and balance cash flow to ensure adequacy of fund for business activities and effectiveness of fund allocation
2.4    Oversee and ensure integrity and robustness of financial review and performance management process
2.5    Maintain and secure data in accounting software and fully exploit functions of accounting software to increase the work efficiency
3    Steer and oversee overall financial management process
3.1    Set policies, procedures, and overall financial-related guidelines
3.2    Oversee execution of best-in-class in financial and risk management as well performance evaluation process
3.3    Ensure continuous improvement of financial management process
3.4    Create management reports as required
3.5    Perform basic analysis to assess company standing vs. business sector and development trends of product lines to propose measures to enhance operational efficiency in expanding market share
4    Foster and cultivate quality relationships with major stakeholders
4.1    Manage relationships with shareholders, business partners, banks, financial institutions, credit institutions, governments, state authorities (tax, state audit), and public
4.2    Organize and implement company presentation periodically
4.3    Support to provide financial information to investor community and key stakeholders
4.4    Propose annual dividend payment plans (dividend rate, forms of payment, etc.)
4.5    Maintain and develop friendly relations with strategic partners, audit, and consulting companies
4.6    Work with financial institutions to obtain cheap capital
5    Be the fiduciary representative of the shareholders
5.1    Define and execute best-in-class accounting policies and standards and risk assessment and control measures
5.2    Oversee closings, audits, and preparation of financial statements; ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and effectiveness tax planning
5.3    Sign receipts, payment orders, authorizations, financial reports and tax reports according to the decentralized authority
5.4    Supervise the keeping records and accounting documents in accordance with regulations
5.5    Supervise the observance of tax accounting law in order to control accounting vouchers and entries as per regulations of State and the Company
5.6    Provide appropriate consulting about tax payment and management to enhance company’s benefit and keep compliance
