Job Summary

For over 150 years our client have been fulfilling their vision of inspiring artists and audiences worldwide with the magic of the iconic Royal Albert Hall, creating life-enriching, unforgettable experiences for everyone. Hosting 390 events a year in the main auditorium and more than 800 in other smaller spaces, the Royal Albert Hall stands true to its original purpose of promoting the Arts and Sciences. As a charity, the Hall is dedicated to maintaining the Grade I listed building and giving access to all.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Building and Facilities Team in the role as Head of Building and Facilities. The role holder will play a key role in overseeing the development, management and implementation of the Royal Albert Hall’s Projects and Facilities teams.
As Head of Building and Facilities, you will lead on the Halls strategic estate plan, personally developing the specification and then leading on the delivery of a range of building development projects including those related to capital expenditure, partnerships and health and safety. The amount of work that is required to maintain the Hall is significant so whilst you will lead on certain projects it’s not possible for you to do it all! You will also have the responsibility of leading, supporting and developing your team to deliver their activities efficiently whilst minimising disruption to other Hall activities.
As the first point of contact for a broad range of internal and external stakeholders you will need to be a strong communicator with excellent relationship building skills to ensure the teams focussed on delivering a first-class service whilst always keeping statutory compliance and the Halls heritage at the forefront of your mind.
With the range of activities that you will have responsibility for overseeing, demonstrable experience of operating at a senior level and delivering projects to a high standard is essential. Having prior experience of working within a heritage site and holding a relevant professional qualification and/or membership (i.e. RICS, RIBA or CIOB) is also preferable. In return RAH offer a uniquely exciting opportunity to bring your professional skills to a vibrant, creative, and busy setting in one of the Nation’s great entertainment venues.

Candidate Testimonial

Development & Project Manager, Life-Sciences Development Company

There are oceans between great recruitment specialists and bad, and from my experience I tend to find that out after I've taken my first interview with them. Jamie Williams was spot on from the moment we first spoke. He gave me more than enough information on the role, company and process. He pushed to get me in front of the life-sciences development company - who were already well along their way - then pushed to keep the momentum up and get the role secured within just a couple of weeks.

I have never experienced such a personal level of interaction when looking for a new role and hope to stay connected with Jamie throughout my career. I truly felt he was going to bat for me and dealt with my neuroses like a true professional!
