Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager with a strong background in data centre new build projects or critical services for example hospitals or large scale server rooms, Malls, industrial projects based in Hong Kong.

The preferred candidte should be HKIE qualified with a solid background in electrical engineering.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the planning, design, and execution of data centre construction projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards. The Project Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, engineers, contractors, and vendors, to ensure successful project delivery and the installation of HVAC systems.

The preferred candiate must have design package installation experience.

  1. Project Planning and Design:
    • Collaborate with architects and engineers to develop project plans, including scope, budget, and timelines.
    • Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments to identify potential risks and constraints.
    • Assist in the design and layout of data centre facilities, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
  2. Project Execution and Management:
    • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
    • Oversee the procurement of materials and services, ensuring adherence to project budget and specifications.
    • Monitor and track project progress, identifying and mitigating any issues or risks that may arise.
    • Conduct regular site visits to ensure construction activities align with project plans and quality standards.
    • Collaborate with contractors and vendors to ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality control measures.
  3. Quality Assurance and Documentation:
    • Develop and implement quality assurance processes to ensure adherence to project specifications.
    • Conduct regular inspections and audits to verify compliance with industry standards and best practices.
    • Prepare and maintain project documentation, including progress reports, change orders, and technical specifications.
    • Coordinate with the project team to conduct post-construction evaluations and lessons learned exercises.
  4. Team Collaboration and Leadership:
    • Provide technical guidance and support to cross-functional project teams.
    • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment by promoting effective communication and knowledge sharing.
    • Mentor and develop junior engineers, promoting their professional growth and success.
    • Serve as a subject matter expert, providing technical expertise and guidance during project meetings and presentations.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, preferably in electrical engineering 
  • Proven experience in project management, specifically in data centre new build projects or critical projects.
  • At least 8 years of work experience.
  • HKIE qualified.
  • Strong knowledge of data centre design principles, construction methods, and infrastructure systems.
  • Familiarity with industry standards in Hong Kong.
  • Proficient in project management with work experience with a contractor in Hong Kong.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
