Macdonald and Company are delighted to have been retained by GIA to help appoint their new Senior Associate Partner (Building Surveyor) to lead London their Building Consultancy division which provides a range of complementary services that include:
  • Project management
  • Contract administration
  • Due diligence surveys
  • Development and Project monitoring
  • Dilapidation Surveys & Negotiations

A strategically important factor in this plan is the appointment of a Senior Associate Partner to lead the Building Consultancy service offering for the South. With a well-established team in Manchester, this role is pivotal to the expansion of GIA’s Building Consultancy offering. They have a strong client list to leverage in the region and a track record of delivering many iconic projects and high-end developments. These are both on residential and commercial sites across the country. This role will be exciting and fast-paced, offering a fantastic career opportunity to a driven and ambitious Building Surveyor who wants to forge their own identity in the Building Consultancy environment. The Role Appointed as the leader of the London Building Consultancy division it is envisaged that you will have the following skills and experiences:
  • You will have a confident and engaging personality with strong client facing and business development skills.
  • Operating as the key contact on client instructions you will be highly proficient at developing professional relationships, both internally and externally, to foster relationships with senior colleagues and potential new clients.
  • You will be an enthusiastic and proactive Chartered Surveyor who is commercially aware and technically proficient with the ability to earn client trust. The combination of commerciality and expertise is very important with this role.
  • You will have had exposure to a broad spectrum of services including: project management; contract administration; due diligence surveys; development/project monitoring and dilapidations, all on a professional and commercial scale.
  • A minimum 5+ Years post qualified experience.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
Types of work currently being undertaken by GIA’s Building Consultancy Team 
  • Contract Administration on projects from £50K — £l.5m+;
  • Dilapidation instructions for both Landlord and Tenant;
  • Pre-Acquisition/Due diligence works;
  • Project Monitoring on new development works;
  • Planned Maintenance programmes.

We will support you with the recruitment of additional members to your P&L and help you drive forward Building Consultancy across the South.
