Job Summary

A rare and exceptional opportunity has arisen at a prestigious renewable energy business for a Senior Management Accountant to undertake a 12 month fixed-term contract, potentially with a view to becoming permanent. This business has forged a first-class reputation developing and utilizing innovative technologies to supply low carbon sustainable green energy across both residential and commercial sectors. They are searching for a Senior Management Accountant to join their dynamic team to report on the monthly and quarterly expenditure and revenue; Key responsibilities include;
  • Support the financial controller with accounting and audit support
  • Preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts
  • Undertake variance analysis evaluating unit cost vs revenue generated from energy supply and consumption
  • Undertake balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assist with cashflow monitoring and forecasting
  • Assistance with budget preparation and analysis
  • Review and posting of accruals and prepayment journals
  • Review Profit & Loss account and Balance Sheet entries
  • Calculate and produce VAT returns
  • Play a lead role in the identification and implementation of process improvements to drive efficiencies in relation to timeliness for the delivery of financial information
  • Assist with training and mentoring of junior members of staff and Accounts Assistants.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders within the energy team to obtain financial data on a monthly and quarterly basis
The successful candidate will have acquired commercial experience as either a Management Accountant or Senior Management Accountant within an energy supply or utilities business. In addition, you will be fully adept at producing monthly and or quarterly management accounts with associated variance analysis and board reports, in conjunction with having the ability to assist with and play and instrumental role in service and process improvements. Finally, you’ll have good written and verbal communication skills with a strong work ethic and as well as being a team player.
