One of London’s most prestigious real estate investment and asset management companies has an exciting opportunity for a Service Charge Accountant to undertake a 12 mth fixed term contract.

Over a number of decades, this business has firmly established itself as a market leading investment and asset management business through the delivery of a highly acquisitive investment strategy that has enabled them to amass a high performing and diverse property portfolio consisting of a variety of asset classes that include a diverse range of asset classes including mixed use, commercial and residential schemes.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a Service Charge Accountant to join a dynamic, friendly and well-structured team where you will be required to undertake the following tasks.
  • Prepare Charge Reconciliations across a residential and commercial portfolio
  • Finalise and agree Service Charge budgets with property management teams
  • Review year end expenditure and billings to tenants
  • Journal preparation and posting (including prepayments and accruals)
  • Calculate service charge apportionment and reconciliations
  • Draft tenant packs with internal reconciliations for sign off
  • Preparation of leasehold Service Charge Accounts
  • Creation of year end service charge pack
  • Preparation of Service Charge Statements
  • Address and attend to Tenant queries

The successful will have acquired commercial experience as a Service Charge Accountant working commercial and or residential property portfolio preparing year end accounts and budgets etc.

In addition, you’ll have a thorough understanding of RICS commercial service charge code and associated legislation in conjunction with being degree educated in Accounting & Finance (2:1) and above or AAT level 2 or 3 qualified.

Furthermore, you will have strong attention to detail, exemplary analytical, written and verbal communication skills, calm demeanor and good team player.
