Job Summary
Macdonald and Company re working exclusively with a large land owner in the North West who are now looking to appoint a Planning Manager.In this position, you will collaborate closely with the Planning Director to manage a varied caseload of planning-related activities. You’ll aid the Property and Project Teams to help drive strategic business initiatives throughout the Group. Your responsibilities will include overseeing all phases of the planning process for projects, from initial pre-application discussions to the successful submission and approval of planning applications.
You will take the lead in preparing Master Plans and conduct related studies and assessments, ensuring effective stakeholder engagement throughout. Additionally, you will support planning Directors with all regulatory planning aspects of their operations, managing and facilitating the submission of permitted development projects. You will also be responsible for drafting and submitting formal responses to local planning and policy consultations.
Qualifications and Skills:
You should have prior experience working with Local Planning Authorities and either hold or be nearing completion of an MRTPI qualification. Your background should include extensive experience in development management and a strong understanding of the planning application and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) processes. As an effective communicator, you should be comfortable presenting to and influencing both internal and external stakeholders.
You will also need strong skills in community and stakeholder management, with the ability to oversee multiple development projects simultaneously. Given the nature of the role, occasional travel to other sites within the UK may be required.
