Job Summary

Our client is a leading player in the real estate investment, management, and development sector, focusing primarily on the vibrant Washington, DC metropolitan area. They are partnered with Macdonald & Co. to appoint a 'Vice President of Finance & Investments'.

With more 1MM SF of AUM, they specialize in large-scale, high-impact development projects and manage a diverse portfolio of real estate assets. With a significant presence in Opportunity Zones, they prioritize sustainability, and community integration.

We are seeking a skilled real estate professional to join their team and support senior leadership in financial modeling, analysis, and strategic decision-making across various aspects of our business, including development projects, long-term investments, leasing opportunities, and real estate funds.

  • Lead financial and feasibility analysis throughout property investment lifecycle, from initial assessment to financing, development, and fundraising.
  • Enhance and review real estate development and investment financial models, providing guidance to a team of associates and analysts.
  • Develop and validate project and market assumptions for financial models, ensuring alignment with current market conditions.
  • Maintain portfolio roll-up and corporate models for comprehensive analysis.
  • Create detailed waterfall projections to forecast investor ROI and distributions.
  • Evaluate and report on existing investment strategies and portfolio performance.
  • Assess potential investment opportunities, project milestones, and major decisions, presenting findings in investment memoranda.
  • Coordinate monthly and quarterly pro forma updates to communicate project and fund returns to leadership.
  • Support management of partner relationships and contribute to business development efforts.
  • Develop analyses to support capital strategy, including equity and debt capital raise activities.
  • Prepare partner-level reports and assist the Capital Markets team with investor communications.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve assumptions, materials, and team performance to enhance productivity.


  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or business administration preferred.
  • MBA or equivalent graduate-level experience desired.
  • Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making. Previous analytical work in private equity, consulting, or venture capital settings is advantageous.
  • Ability to influence fiscal aspects of commercial real estate assets.
  • Comfortable communicating complex ideas to diverse audiences.
  • Proficient in Excel-based financial modeling. As well as proficiency in PowerPoint, Yardi, and market research platforms.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience managing teams and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Understanding of real estate investment metrics and structures.
  • Substantial experience in real estate finance, acquisitions, or development.
  • Experience managing financial analysts and associates.
  • Familiarity with brokerage and market research communities.
  • Strong grasp of real estate investment concepts and structures.
