Macdonald & Company is proudly partnered with a real estate investor and operator of industrial and logistics assets to appoint a Vice President of Investments & Capital Markets in Charlotte, North Carolina. With a multi-generational legacy of property ownership, the company currently boasts a diverse portfolio of 25+ properties across North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Virginia, Tennessee, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. The company's leadership team brings extensive experience from institutional private equity firms, having collectively acquired over $3 billion in real estate across various asset classes.The Vice President of Investments & Capital Markets will play a critical role in shaping the strategic direction of the firm’s investment initiatives. This individual will be responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and executing investment opportunities, while also overseeing capital markets activities to support the firm's growth objectives. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in real estate investment, financial modeling, capital raising and relationship management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investment Strategy: Develop and implement the firm’s investment strategy to maximize returns on existing assets and identify new acquisition opportunities across various real estate sectors.
- Sourcing and Evaluation: Lead efforts to source and evaluate potential investment opportunities, including conducting market research, financial analysis, and due diligence.
- Capital Markets Management: Oversee capital markets activities, including debt and equity financing, investor relations, and structuring of investment vehicles.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with institutional investors, lenders, and other capital partners to secure financing and investment commitments.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and manage a team of analysts and investment professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration and high performance.
- Portfolio Management: Monitor and assess the performance of the firm’s existing portfolio, providing strategic recommendations to enhance value.
- Market Trends: Stay abreast of market trends, regulatory changes, and economic factors impacting real estate investments, and provide insights to senior leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Business, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in real estate investment, capital markets, or related fields, with a proven track record of successful deal execution.
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, with proficiency in Excel and other relevant software.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience leading teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of various real estate asset classes, including commercial, residential, and industrial properties.
