Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join our executive team and lead our financial operations. This person will play a critical role in driving financial strategy, planning, and analysis to support our continued growth and success in the dynamic real estate market of Washington, DC.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Strategy: Develop and execute the company's financial strategy in alignment with overall business objectives.
- Financial Planning & Analysis: Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling to support decision-making and optimize financial performance.
- Capital Management: Oversee capital structure, financing strategies, and investor relations to ensure optimal funding for projects and growth initiatives.
- Risk Management: Implement robust risk management practices, including monitoring market trends, regulatory changes, and financial compliance.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and present accurate and timely financial reports, including P&L statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, to senior management and stakeholders.
- Tax & Compliance: Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations, manage tax planning strategies, and coordinate audits.
- Investment Analysis: Evaluate investment opportunities, conduct due diligence, and assess financial feasibility of new projects and acquisitions.
- Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience (10+ years) in senior financial leadership roles within the real estate development or investment industry.
- Strong understanding of real estate finance, including property valuation, debt financing, and equity partnerships.
- Expertise in financial planning, analysis, and reporting with proficiency in financial modeling and forecasting.
- Comprehensive knowledge of tax, regulatory, and compliance issues related to real estate development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with executives, investors, and external stakeholders.
- Strategic thinker with a proactive and innovative approach to financial management.
