Macdonald and Company are proud to be exclusively retained by our client, a prominent commercial real estate investor, to appoint a Senior Director of Investor Relations/Investment Partnerships based in Denver, Colorado. The Director will spearhead the strategic approach to raising capital, vital for sustaining and expanding the capital foundation of the company and its subsidiaries.

About the role:
The Senior Director of Investment Partnerships/Investor Relations will collaborate closely with the executive team to secure investments from various sources, including high-net-worth individuals, institutional investors, family trusts, and asset managers. Reporting directly to the Chief Investment Officer, this role will involve fostering new business relationships, ensuring effective communication, and aligning strategic objectives. Additionally, the incumbent will play a key role in shaping strategic initiatives, overseeing outcome measurement, and spearheading specialized projects aimed at diversifying the capital base.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Devise comprehensive long-term and annual investment strategies to secure equity investments and diverse funding streams in accordance with organizational goals and directives.
  • Conduct thorough market research to identify and evaluate potential funding opportunities, both public and private, to support informed decision-making processes.
  • Identify, engage, and onboard investors from various sectors using a range of outreach methods, tailored presentations, and close collaboration with internal leadership.
  • Nurture ongoing investor relationships through regular communication and engagement activities, leveraging internal resources to enhance investor outreach efforts.
  • Assess the suitability of prospective investors for our programs and products, providing strategic guidance to internal leadership teams.
  • Craft compelling investment proposals reflecting our company's vision and objectives to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Work closely with program staff to explore funding prospects and develop innovative financial solutions.
  • Prepare compelling reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Cultivate and maintain investor and capital relationships, ensuring sustained engagement and future investment opportunities.
  • Lead special initiatives focused on securing new capital sources, while maintaining strong relationships with key funding partners and agencies.
  • Coordinate all interim and final investor reports, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements and facilitating follow-up with funding entities as needed.
  • Maintain a comprehensive database of past, current, and potential funders, tracking relevant information and communication statuses.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of our company's programs and initiatives to effectively pursue new capital opportunities and represent our organization to potential investors.
  • Collaborate with company leadership to develop strategic plans, including capitalization forecasts, growth analyses, and innovative financial products.
  • Provide support for emerging initiatives and capital formation needs as necessary.
Requirements/Qualifications:


  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in fundraising and investment development, with a proven track record of securing funding from major financial institutions, family offices, and HNW investors.
  • Proficient in crafting technical materials tailored to specialized audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects effectively, showcasing strong project management skills and monitoring capabilities.
  • Team-oriented with excellent collaboration skills, high emotional intelligence, and the ability to autonomously lead teams.
  • Proficient in business software, particularly MS Excel and MS Word.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited 4-year college or university.
  • Experience working with asset managers, family offices, and financial institutions.
  • Willingness to travel up to 40%.
