Job Summary

A dynamic and market leading multi-national real estate investment, development and asset management business has an outstanding opportunity for an Accounts Payable Manager to manage an enthusiastic team of AP professionals.

They have established themselves as a pre-eminent real estate business with an intercontinental reach, through a clearly defined, financially astute and highly acquisitive value add strategy which has lead to the development of a high performing global property portfolio encompassing diverse variety of lucrative asset classes.

You will play a lead role coordinating the day to day management of a team of accounts payable professionals and transactions in conjunction driving efficiency through the implementation of process and systems improvements.

Key responsibilities include;
 
  • Oversee the day to day management of two Accounts Payable Assistants, allocating workloads, ensuring all invoices are coded correctly and uploaded on the system, coupled with addressing any enquiries and statements
  • Coordinate the preparation of weekly payment runs across several entities
  • Management of corporate entities ensuring that all invoices and payments are processed in line with payment deadlines.
  • Lead the development and implementation of process improvements to maximise efficiencies
  • Review weekly transactions
  • Preparation of cashflow forecasts
  • Address and resolve supplier queries
  • Ensure that all invoices are assigned to the correct workflow for review and subsequent final approval 
  • Undertake cashbook reconciliations as well as verifying sufficient funds are available, highlighting any immediate deficits.
  • Register and set up supplier accounts
  • Maintain supplier and unpaid invoice schedules for invoice tracking
  • Ensure cashbooks are reconciled from bank statements prior to each payment run
  • Provide the wider finance team with assistance in relation to month end and quarterly accounts
  • Coordinate and assist with year end audit queries
  • Management of team development strategies and recruitment

The successful candidate will have a degree in Accounting & Finance, Mathematics or Economics (2:1 and above) or AAT level 3 qualification and above.

In addition, you will have acquired commercial experience as a Senior Accounts Payable Assistant, AP Supervisor or AP Manager in the real estate and property sector preferably within an operational asset management business.

Furthermore, you must have prior experience managing, training and mentoring and training junior Accounts Payable Assistants in relation to review and allocation of workloads, monitoring performance and the ability to build healthy relationships with suppliers.

Moreover, you’ll be adept at dealing with and administering high volumes of payables invoices, with the ability to present, report and communicate effectively with Senior Management and Directors.

Finally, you will have a calm and friendly demeanor with exemplary written and verbal communication skills coupled with natural drive and enthusiasm.
