Job Summary
Our client is an established real estate investment and asset platform is seeking a commercially minded finance professional to support the financial management of a diversified commercial property portfolio, alongside multiple corporate, investment and property entities.This role will work closely with senior management and operational stakeholders across finance, asset management, leasing and property operations, with responsibility across financial reporting, budgeting, treasury, tax, compliance and day-to-day property finance operations. The position also includes supervision of a lean finance team and involvement in ongoing process improvements and operational initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the full spectrum of finance and accounting operations across property entities, SPVs and management companies, including month-end close, reconciliations and financial reporting.
- Prepare and review management accounts, statutory financial statements, budgets, forecasts and variance analysis to support management decision-making.
- Monitor asset-level financial performance across commercial properties, including rental income, operating expenditure, service charge recoveries, receivables and lease-related financial matters.
- Work closely with leasing and property management teams on tenant accounts, deposits, arrears, incentives, lease-related transactions and reconciliations.
- Monitor property operating costs, vendor payments, service charge recoveries and capital expenditure / project costs, supporting cost control and financial planning.
- Manage cash flow, liquidity, bank facilities, loan obligations, covenant compliance and other treasury-related activities.
- Maintain accurate records of bank loans, financing schedules, covenants and related obligations, and liaise with banks and financial institutions where required.
- Coordinate audits, tax filings and regulatory requirements, including corporate income tax, GST, withholding tax and property tax matters, while ensuring strong internal controls and compliance standards are maintained.
- Liaise closely with auditors, tax advisors, banks, consultants and other external stakeholders on finance-related matters.
- Partner with asset management, leasing and property operations teams to support financial planning, reporting, budgeting and ongoing business initiatives.
- Supervise and mentor junior finance team members, while supporting process improvements, operational efficiencies and ad hoc strategic projects.
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline; CPA / CA / ACCA preferred.
- Approximately 8–12 years of relevant finance and accounting experience, ideally within real estate, property investment, asset management or property management environments.
- Proven experience supporting commercial real estate assets, with a strong understanding of property finance operations and asset-level financial reporting.
- Experience across office, retail or other commercial property assets would be advantageous.
- Strong understanding of SPV structures, property accounting and lease-related financial matters.
- Experience handling full-set accounting, audits, tax matters, treasury, budgeting and forecasting independently.
- Familiarity with rental income, tenant accounts, service charge recoveries, operating expenses and capex tracking would be advantageous.
- Comfortable operating within a lean, hands-on environment with broad responsibilities.
- Strong communication, analytical and stakeholder management skills.
- Detail-oriented, reliable and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Prior team management or mentoring experience would be advantageous.
- Positive, adaptable and commercially minded, with a strong sense of ownership.
