Job Summary
An established South African property investment and asset management group has built a strong reputation for spotting opportunity where others see challenges. Its strategy is centred on identifying underperforming assets, acquiring them, and unlocking their potential through focused investment, hands-on asset management, and strategic repositioning. This approach has fuelled substantial portfolio expansion and cemented the company’s position as a recognised player in the South African property market. An opportunity has arisen within its Foreshore head office for a Leasing and Investment Consultant. This is a varied role that sits at the intersection of leasing, property performance and investment, giving you the opportunity to play a direct part in both the day-to-day success of the portfolio and its future growth. A key part of your role will be ensuring that the portfolio remains well occupied and that strong, long-term relationships are maintained with tenants. You’ll work closely with management to shape leasing strategies, provide input into rental levels and tenant mix, and ensure that vacancies are effectively positioned and marketed. Working alongside brokers, you’ll identify and attract prospective tenants, coordinate property viewings, manage applications and oversee the onboarding process. You’ll also take ownership of lease administration, from drafting and reviewing lease agreements and related legal documentation to maintaining accurate and up-to-date tenant records. The role also extends beyond leasing into the investment side of the business where you’ll conduct market research and analysis, contribute to the assessment of potential acquisitions, and assist with the preparation of financial analyses and property investment models. As part of the due diligence process, you’ll help evaluate opportunities from both a commercial and investment perspective, giving you exposure to the full property lifecycle - from identifying an opportunity and securing the right tenant through to assessing the next acquisition.
Based in Cape Town, you’ll have a BSc in Property Studies and at least 2 years’ experience in tenant sourcing, lease negotiations and administration. We’re looking for someone with a strong commercial mindset who can think beyond the immediate transaction, build credibility with stakeholders at all levels and understand what drives property performance. An understanding of property analytics would be advantageous, but more importantly, you’ll need the curiosity and willingness to learn, along with the confidence to take ownership and contribute across both the leasing and investment side of the business.
