Job Summary
Our client is a unique, purpose-driven property business established to create property ownership opportunities for previously disadvantaged communities through a broad-based empowerment structure. With a diversified portfolio of properties across all nine provinces, spanning predominantly industrial and motor retail assets alongside a select office portfolio, and a reported net asset value of approximately R1.2 billion, the organisation combines commercial success with meaningful social impact. Backed by a Level 1 B-BBEE rating, strong governance structures and a clear long-term vision, the business is entering an exciting phase of its evolution and is seeking a technically accomplished Financial Manager to help shape its next chapter.Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Financial Manager will assume responsibility for a finance function that plays a critical role in supporting management, governance and strategic decision-making. This is a predominantly technical role requiring a strong CA(SA) with proven expertise in annual financial statements, external audits, technical accounting, tax, cash flow management, loan agreements and lender reporting. With the September 2026 financial year-end approaching, the successful candidate will play a key role in working alongside the Managing Director to ensure the business is fully prepared for year-end reporting and audit processes. This will include overseeing annual financial statement preparation, navigating complex lease accounting disclosures, strengthening reporting disciplines, managing audit readiness and delivering a seamless audit process through to sign-off. The role also includes oversight of a small finance team and regular engagement with senior leadership, auditors, lenders and key stakeholders, providing the high-quality financial insight required to support the organisation's continued growth.
This opportunity will appeal to a finance professional who thrives in a lean, entrepreneurial environment where accountability is high, visibility is immediate and decisions are made close to the source. Experience within a rental property environment will be highly advantageous, although candidates from relevant financial services or property backgrounds with strong technical expertise will also be considered. While initially structured as a 7-month fixed-term contract, the role offers an opportunity to make an immediate and meaningful impact during a pivotal stage in the organisation's evolution. As the business continues to evolve, there may be potential for longer-term involvement, although the immediate focus is on delivering value during the contract period. For the right person, it presents a unique chance to combine technical excellence with commercial influence within a business where purpose and performance go hand in hand.
