In this role, you’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day accounting and financial reporting across a portfolio of properties, ensuring transactions are correctly recorded and allocated on MDA and that the underlying financial records remain accurate and up to date. You’ll oversee trial balance integrity, prepare balance sheet reconciliations and monthly journals, assist with management accounts and financial statement reviews, and provide commentary on income statement variances. Your responsibilities will also extend to fixed asset accounting, VAT reconciliations and submissions, SARS audit support, tax-related queries, and assisting with the external audit process. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you’ll provide valuable support across the finance function while ensuring critical reporting deadlines are consistently met.
The ideal candidate will hold a completed Finance or Accounting-related qualification and bring at least 3 years’ experience in a similar accounting role. Strong working knowledge of MDA and spreadsheets is essential, alongside a solid understanding of accounting principles and the ability to confidently work across ledgers, reconciliations, journals, VAT, and financial reporting. You’ll be a highly accurate, trustworthy, and organised self-starter who can manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and take ownership of getting things done properly.
