Our client, a prominent developer specializing in multifamily value-add assets, is seeking a talented and experienced Director of Multifamily Value-Add Asset Management. The Director of Multifamily Value-Add Asset Management will be responsible for driving strategic direction and ensuring seamless execution of value-add initiatives across our client’s multifamily portfolio. Reporting directly to senior leadership, the Director of Multifamily Value-Add Asset Management will play a pivotal role in shaping the firm’s investment strategy, optimizing asset performance, and fostering collaborative partnerships across the organization.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide strategic leadership and mentorship to the Asset Management Team, fostering a culture of accountability, communication, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate closely with the Acquisitions and Construction teams to develop comprehensive business plans, budgets, and execution strategies for each asset.
  • Lead due diligence efforts on new acquisitions, with a focus on operational aspects, to identify value-add opportunities and mitigate risks.
  • Oversee day-to-day execution of investments, including real-time adjustments to strategy, expense control, revenue management, and staffing decisions.
  • Manage cash flow and planning for capital improvements and distributions, ensuring optimal financial performance.
  • Develop annual business plans, rate plans, and compensation structures tailored to each asset's unique needs and market dynamics.
  • Work closely with the Construction team to align capital improvement projects with operational requirements, optimizing returns.
  • Establish tools and infrastructure necessary for efficient asset management operations, driving process improvements and scalability.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on asset performance to key stakeholders, internally and externally, conducting detailed financial reviews and analysis.
  • Direct retail leasing efforts and negotiate commercial leases for mixed-use properties, maximizing occupancy and revenue potential.
  • Collaborate with legal teams in negotiating contracts, overseeing litigation matters, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in Investment Committee meetings, providing recommendations on capital events and key investment decisions.
  • Cultivate relationships with capital partners, preparing analysis and presentations to support ongoing communication and collaboration.
  • Drive quality improvement initiatives across the organization, leveraging data-driven insights and stakeholder feedback.
  • Participate in equity capital pitches, preparing materials and presentations to attract investment opportunities.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for lenders, managing relationships and ensuring alignment with financing objectives.
 
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree in Business, Real Estate, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in multifamily real estate development, investment, or asset management.
  • Experience with multifamily value-add product is required. 
  • At least 3 years of supervisory experience, demonstrating strong leadership and team development skills.
  • Proven track record of delivering quantifiable results and driving organizational change to achieve exceptional performance.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate vision, strategy, and results internally and externally.
  • Strong project management skills, capable of formulating and executing strategic plans to achieve company goals.
  • Results-oriented mindset, with a focus on delivering measurable outcomes and continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency in budgeting, financial management, and operations analysis.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and provide exemplary customer service.
