Asset Manager BtR/PRS

Job Summary

• Our client, backed by a leading Investment Bank has an in place portfolio of 600 units (all operational within 2024) and is expanding their portfolio/AUM to over 5,000 units over the next 3-5 years.
• They need to hire someone ASAP to take over and get involved with the assets throughout their lifespan from pre-deal onwards.

• The Asset Manager will support the Head of Asset Management in the operational strategy and oversight, management of outsourced property managers, management of the entire customer journey, monitoring performance, maximizing opportunities to monetise/drive bottom line, interacting with /formal reporting to their IB Investor as day-to-day point of contact
• Engagement with the asset starts when the property is acquired/delivered, and involves planning ahead to action what is needed to ensure operational success
• The AM will take on and manage outsourced property managers to deliver the operational piece (leasing, PM, FM, hiring, etc.)
• Candidates should have an out-of-the-box mindset, self-starters who naturally take ownership and embrace a relatively new start-up  
• Attitude is as important as skill set, likely to come from a strongly operational RE background in multifamily, PRS, hotel, student living, senior living or co-living
• Must embrace start up situation but helpful to have had institutional AM experience to deliver institutional standard reporting to their main investor
• The business plan, financial analysis and capex aspects will be dealt with in house so there is no need to have modelling skills or capex experience
• Must have a good understanding of real estate, so MRICS or equivalent is helpful (but not essential)
• The first units acquired are already managed and leased, and this role has operational ownership - oversight/monitoring/reporting/recommending
• They will have a direct relationship with the main investor but not in the context of a senior management role, must be sufficiently seasoned to be able to hit the ground running
