This esteemed individual will lead the strategic efforts to raise crucial funds, essential for sustaining and expanding the financial base of the company and its subsidiaries.

About the Role:
The Director of Investor Relations will work closely with the management team to secure investments from a diverse range of sources, including individual investors, family offices, institutions, and registered investment advisors. Reporting directly to the Principal, this role involves nurturing new business relationships, maintaining regular communication with key stakeholders, and aligning objectives effectively. Additionally, the Director will play a pivotal role in shaping strategic initiatives and business planning, overseeing outcome measurement, and driving specialized projects aimed at securing new capital sources.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop comprehensive multi-year and annual capitalization plans to secure equity investments and diverse capital sources, aligning with organizational objectives and leadership directives.
  • Conduct extensive research on both public and private funding opportunities to support strategic decision-making.
  • Identify, engage, and onboard investors from various sectors, utilizing effective outreach strategies, tailored presentations, and collaboration with internal leadership.
  • Foster ongoing investor relationships through regular communication and engagement efforts, leveraging internal stakeholders to enhance investor outreach.
  • Evaluate prospective investors' compatibility with company programs and products, providing strategic input to internal leadership.
  • Craft compelling investment proposals reflecting the company's vision and objectives to secure desired outcomes.
  • Collaborate closely with program staff to explore funding prospects and develop innovative financing solutions.
  • Prepare persuasive reports and presentations for both internal and external audiences.
  • Manage and nurture investor and capital relationships, ensuring sustained engagement and future investment opportunities.
  • Oversee special initiatives related to new capital sources, while maintaining strong relationships with key funding partners and agencies.
  • Coordinate all interim and final investor reports, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements and facilitating follow-up with funding agencies as necessary.
  • Maintain a comprehensive database of past, current, and prospective funders, tracking relevant information and communication status.
  • Demonstrate deep understanding of company programs and initiatives to effectively pursue new capital opportunities and represent the organization to potential investors.
  • Collaborate with company leadership to develop strategic plans, including capitalization projections, growth analysis, and innovative finance products.
  • Provide support for emerging initiatives and capital formation needs as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

    Requirements/Qualifications: 
    • Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in capital raising and fund development, with a proven track record of securing funding from major financial institutions, family offices, and private foundations.
    • Proficiency in writing technical materials tailored for specialized audiences.
    • Ability to effectively manage multiple complex projects, demonstrating strong project management skills and monitoring capabilities.
    • Team-oriented with excellent collaborative skills, high emotional intelligence, and the ability to lead teams autonomously.
    • Proficient in business software, particularly MS Excel and MS Word.
    • Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or university.
    • Experience working with registered investment advisors, family offices, and financial institutions.
    • Demonstrated expertise in private placements, regulatory compliance, structured funds, real estate underwriting, and general banking knowledge.
    • Knowledge and experience within the self-storage industry is a plus.
    • Willingness to travel up to 50%.
