Role Summary
The Director of Finance, under the direct guidance of the Chief Financial Officer, will assume a pivotal role in overseeing all facets of financial management. This includes but is not limited to corporate accounting, regulatory compliance, meticulous financial reporting, strategic budgeting, insightful forecasting, and the implementation of robust internal control measures and policies. This integral position will be stationed in Los Angeles, offering a flexible hybrid work arrangement, allowing for two days in-office and three days remote work, providing autonomy and convenience tailored to individual preferences.

Role:
Functions & Responsibilities
  • Leading and orchestrating the formulation of budgets, financial forecasts, and meticulous variance reporting.
  • Crafting monthly and quarterly performance reports and effectively communicating outcomes to both internal and external leadership cohorts.
  • Fostering collaboration with department heads and the CFO to craft annual budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Ensuring the timely dissemination of monthly financial statements, upholding transparency and accountability.
  • Overseeing all facets of accounting operations, including Billing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
  • Coordinating regulatory reporting efforts and adeptly addressing intricate technical accounting matters to ensure full compliance.
  • Providing steadfast support during month-end and year-end closing procedures, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Exercising rigorous quality control over financial transactions and reporting activities to uphold precision and integrity.
  • Ensuring adherence to all local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and facilitating seamless tax filings.
  • Developing and meticulously documenting business processes and accounting policies to fortify internal controls and optimize operational efficiency.
  • Establishing standardized operational fees through comprehensive analysis of operational data, ensuring fairness and sustainability.
  • Vigilantly monitoring financial status by conducting thorough comparisons of actual results with established plans and forecasts.
  • Analyzing financial results, adeptly tracking variances, discerning emerging trends, and proactively recommending strategic actions to management.
  • Responding adeptly to ad-hoc reporting requests and tackling unforeseen duties with agility and efficiency.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (B.S. or B.A.) in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master's degree is advantageous.
  • Preferred, but not mandatory, possession of an active CPA license.
  • Proven experience within the real estate industry is a prerequisite.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, strategic planning, P&L management, tracking actual and committed costs, and adept understanding of financial regulations.
  • Advanced utilization of MS Office suite, encompassing Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication acumen.
  • Demonstrated prowess in organizational aptitude, adeptly managing multifaceted projects with multiple work phases.
  • Ability to operate in alignment with company policies and procedures while maintaining strict compliance.
