The Company
As a company with a history spanning multiple decares, the firm are a family-oriented developer and investor that boast many thousands of units in AUM and a strong development pipeline. They see great opportunity heading into the next cycle and have ambitious growth plans due to having the dry powder to go out and execute on deals.

The Role
The firm are growing across their accounting and finance team, and seek a talented Senior Accountant to focus on Property Accounting for a growing portfolio.

Core responsibilities include:
  • Conduct month-end close activities for portfolio properties, including reviewing budgets, revenues, expenses, POs, and invoices, resolving discrepancies as needed
  • Record journal entries such as accruals, deposits, and reclassifications
  • Perform bank reconciliations, scan checks for deposit, and approve resident refunds
  • Calculate and record monthly GAAP depreciation and amortization
  • Analyze revenue and expense trends compared to budget, providing explanations for variances
  • Prepare balance sheet and income statement analyses monthly, with supporting schedules
  • Compile and analyze financial data for lenders and investors on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
  • Assist property management in annual budget preparation for assigned accounts
  • Collaborate with on-site and other property managers to facilitate pre-close and close activities, offering support and ensuring timely completion of accounting processes
  • Undertake additional financial, accounting, and administrative tasks as assigned or required
Target background/experience:
  • Hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Real Estate, Business, or a related discipline
  • Possess essential experience in accounting for multi-family properties
  • Ideally, possess 3-6 years of relevant experience
  • Preferred familiarity with accounting software such as Yardi, RealPage, OneSite, and/or QuickBooks
  • Demonstrate a self-driven and proactive approach to work
